Many people still believe university is only something you do straight after school  or not at all. But that’s not the case, especially since Graduate Apprenticeships are available.

Graduate Apprenticeships are becoming a popular choice for those who want to move up in their careers but have been held back by not having a degree.

If you’re already working and thinking about your next step or even a complete change, a Graduate Apprenticeship could be the way forward. You don’t need to leave your job, and you won’t pay any tuition fees.

They’re fully funded and open to all ages.

A Graduate Apprenticeship is a degree you complete while working full time. You’ll earn a wage, build experience, and study towards a qualification that matches your job. The learning is flexible, and what’s on offer can vary depending on the university. Some courses are fully remote, while others combine online learning with occasional time on campus. This means you can find an option that fits around your work and life.

There are courses in areas like business, accounting, engineering, IT management, software development, cyber security, childcare, construction, data science and social work.

And no, it’s not just for new hires. If you’re already in a job, you can use a GA to upskill, retrain, or finally get the degree you never had the chance to do.

If this sounds like something for you, speak to your manager or HR team, they might not even know these options exist. You can also check apprenticeships.scot or contact DYW Moray for support.

You don’t have to stop learning just because you’re working. And you don’t have to quit to earn a degree. It’s never too late and this could be the change you’ve been waiting for.
