Our ambition is to assist people supported to achieve the “Best Life Possible”. For this to happen it is important that the people we support’s voice is at the forefront of their support. Previous experience of managing services and teams within a social care setting is essential.
You will be required to build excellent working relationships with key partners, including people supported, their loved ones, key professional colleagues from within the Health and Social Work Team and internal departments.
The service will be centred on a Personalised Care, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Active Support Model. Of strong interest to us will be candidates who have a proven commitment to these values-driven support approaches. We will welcome candidates with a learning disability nursing and managerial background.
You may be required to work flexibly; this may include the development of other services in nearby locations. You may also be required to support other services and Service Leaders at times. You will work closely with your Regional Manager, who has a vast amount of knowledge of their region and will support you within your role.
Of key interest to us will be your ability to effectively communicate, assess need, understand positive risk taking and to create dynamic plans. You will be able to audit and manage quality assurance systems as well as to understand the principles of strong resource management. Our service leaders hold strong accountability within their services and will report directly to the Regional Manager, who will provide you with guidance and support to achieve the positive day to day running of the services.
The successful candidate will be required to register with the SSSC if they are not already registered or hold an appropriate registration. They will also be required to have or undertake an SVQ 4 or equivalent qualification to meet the conditions of their registration.
In addition you will be comfortable using basic IT systems that are required within the role - training can be offered to support this area. You will also hold a professional qualification in Health and Social Care, i.e. Nurse, Social Worker, SVQ Level 3 plus supervisory units (Scotland) / Care Management Level 3 (England).
