Job Description
To provide a personal assistant and secretarial service to the Head of People, Change & Community Strategy. Assist in the provision of an efficient clerical and administrative support service to HR Services
Requirements
- Assist in providing a personal assistant/secretarial support service to the Head of People, Change & Community Strategy
- Assist with providing an employee administration and administrative support services for People, Change & Community Strategy
- Provide employee administrative services related to recruitment and selection; conditions of service and termination of employment
- Management of Information
- Assist with the administration of the Council's Long Service Recognition Scheme
The Individual
- Significant Clerical and typing experience
- Accomplished user of Microsoft Office package e.g. Word, Excel
- Experience co-ordinating meetings and transcribing minutes
- Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology and equipment e.g. photocopier, email, Intra/Internet
- 2 Higher Grades or equivalent, preferably including English *
- Proficiency in Word Processing
- Ability to prioritise self and others, with understanding of potential problems
- Ability to work on own initiative and make sensible informed decisions
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to grasp complex issues quickly
- High level of accuracy in work and attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a small team and contribute to effective team working
- Self-confident and self-motivated
- Willingness and ability to tackle issues sensitively, discretely and in confidence
- Knowledge/understanding of the work of Human Resources
