Job Description

To provide a personal assistant and secretarial service to the Head of People, Change & Community Strategy. Assist in the provision of an efficient clerical and administrative support service to HR Services

Requirements

  • Assist in providing a personal assistant/secretarial support service to the Head of People, Change & Community Strategy
  • Assist with providing an employee administration and administrative support services for People, Change & Community Strategy
  • Provide employee administrative services related to recruitment and selection; conditions of service and termination of employment
  • Management of Information
  • Assist with the administration of the Council's Long Service Recognition Scheme

The Individual

  • Significant Clerical and typing experience
  • Accomplished user of Microsoft Office package e.g. Word, Excel
  • Experience co-ordinating meetings and transcribing minutes
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology and equipment e.g. photocopier, email, Intra/Internet
  • 2 Higher Grades or equivalent, preferably including English *
  • Proficiency in Word Processing
  • Ability to prioritise self and others, with understanding of potential problems
  • Ability to work on own initiative and make sensible informed decisions
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to grasp complex issues quickly
  • High level of accuracy in work and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and contribute to effective team working
  • Self-confident and self-motivated

  • Knowledge/understanding of the work of Human Resources
