#DYWChildtoWork Campaign

April 17, 2020

MORAY parents/guardians are being encouraged to get involved in the national #DYWChildtoWork campaign.

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) in Moray along with the 20 other DYW regional groups are working together to continue to inspire young people to consider a variety of careers when being home schooled and who better to do that but parents and guardians.

DYW Moray is a national government funded project made up of 21 regional groups across Scotland, with an overall aim to provide more opportunities for young people to be better prepared for the world of work, and lower youth unemployment.

Sarah Baxter, Programme Manager of DYW Moray said:

“As we know many parents/guardians will be juggling working from home and home schooling and we wanted to use this as an opportunity to encourage anyone who can get involved with Bring your Child to Work Day (Home Edition!).

Involving young people in what their parents/guardians do during their working day will increase young people’s awareness of the world of work which this initiative aims to achieve.”

Aimee Stephen, Employer and School Liaison of the service, added:

"We are really excited to be involved in this national campaign and to be joining our DYW colleagues around the country.  We want to inspire our Moray young people and it’s really easy to get involved.

All people have to do is, post a photograph of yourself and your children working at home on 23rd April 2020 and use the hashtag #DYWChildtoWork and tag us - @DYWMoray.  If you do not use social media and want to be involved, you can send your photo to: info@dywmoray.co.uk and we will share it on your behalf.”
