Moray College UHI – Nine Admin Assistants Within Moray College there are lots of different career opportunities available. With over 300 contracted staff in posts ranging from Chefs, Marketing Assistants, Lecturers, Events Coordinators, Janitors, Accounts Assistants, Administrative Assistants and many more. Administrative Assistants who work at Moray College UHI undertake a wide range of duties and work within many different departments including, marketing, finance, student services, human resources and admissions.
As a minimum, a typical administration assistant will be responsible for: providing prompt and efficient administration services in accordance with College procedures for the service(s) within which the postholder is deployed, provide the necessary information for management information reports and returns, contribute to their completion and provide a quality service with a strong customer care focus. Other tasks will depend on the specific department the postholder works in and can include working with social media or budgeting.
Administration Assistants should, in general, be skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Packages including databases, have to have the ability to meet tight deadlines and should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Administrative Assistants within Moray College UHI interface with: College staff, students and clients; prospective staff, students and clients; staff, students and clients of external agencies – which means since they are continually communicating with different people, they must have good communication skills. Nigel Kirby, Administrative Assistant said,

Moray College UHI also employ Modern Apprentices in Administration to up skill young people in this area. Modern Apprenticeships help employers to develop their workforce by training new staff. For individuals, an MA is a job which lets them earn a wage and gain an industry-recognised qualification. Carragh Main, Clerical Assistant Modern Apprentice said,
“I decided to apply for a Modern Apprenticeship at the college because I know they are a reliable organisation to work for and knew there was room for me to develop. I really like the thought of gaining a qualification while learning on the job and earning a wage. It’s definitely a great way to do it! I’ve already learned lots of new and different things while working here. I would recommend a Modern Apprenticeship at Moray College UHI to anyone!”
