Nineteen lucky young people from Moray’s Secondary Schools including Buckie High School, Elgin High School and Elgin Academy have stepped forward to participate in the creation of the DYW Moray Musical with Lossie Entertainment Academy.
The Musical will be created, influenced, and managed by each of these young people who will have a role in bringing it to life.
DYW Moray have agreed to fund 20 pupil places whereby they will get work experience in the Creative Industries Sector, be mentored by the experienced Lossie EA team throughout and work towards a qualification in the Creative Industries. The Musical will showcase what DYW Moray is all about whilst pupils develop key skills better preparing them for the world of work and most excitingly get to produce or perform depending on their preferred role.
Tish Tindall, Co-Owner of Lossie Entertainment Academy said,
“Lossie Entertainment Academy is delighted to have the opportunity to work in creative partnership with DYW Moray to highlight the positive pathways available to our young people.”
Sarah Baxter, DYW Moray Manager said,
“I see this project as a brilliant opportunity for DYW Moray whereby we are supporting our key drivers, getting local young people involved but also getting to showcase to those parents, young people and employers who are not yet aware of us, what we are here to do.”
Anne Duncan, DYW Moray Board Member said,
“I have total admiration for these young people who have stepped out of the relative comfort zone of their schools into a Creative business world that challenges and rewards in equal measures. They have all stepped to the edge of that metaphorical cliff and jumped! We already look forward to the landing.”
