40 Excited Moray Pupils to be Worldhost Trained at Brodie Castle

DYW Moray are delighted to be offering WorldHost training again to Moray pupils this year. 

WorldHost is recognised across the world as a badge of high quality customer service.   It brings an industry benchmark that businesses and their operators can use to ensure that high quality customer service standards are integral to their operation.  It has already been used to train over 10 per cent of Scotland’s tourism workforce and represents an investment of over £2million since it was launched in Scotland.

 

Next week, another 40 excited pupils who are studying Travel and Tourism at National 5 level are getting the opportunity to complete the World Class Customer Service Training at the stunning venue, Brodie Castle. 

 

Brodie Castle has kindly offered DYW Moray to host the training at their Stables Venue situated at the Castle.  This allows the pupils to gain insight into Scottish Tourism by visiting the Ancestral home of Clan Brodie, with an outstanding art collection and magnificent library.  

 

Clare Taylor, Operations Manager at Brodie Castle has said,

 

“Brodie Castle is delighted to be able to support the Moray pupils and DYW Moray in achieving this recognised certificate of excellence. To play a part in developing the potential future leaders of tourism and heritage is exciting for the National Trust for Scotland, especially helping the young people in the region develop their passion for a career in tourism. We hope they enjoy their time at Brodie Castle and we look forward to future partnership initiatives with DYW Moray.”

 

Furthermore, Moray College UHI has provided their Hospitality Lecturer & Module Leader, Tami Wilson who is approved to deliver the training,

 

Tami Wilson has said,

 

“This is a great opportunity for young people to achieve a qualification that will be useful to them whatever industry the eventually choose to go into.  Moray is currently working towards becoming a WorldHost destination by ensuring that at least 50% of its workforce in customer facing roles have achieved this training – by delivering this to the school pupils it will help us reach our target, and also encourage other businesses to offer the training to their staff.”

 

The training will take place over three days next week (Mon 6th Nov, Tues 7th Nov and Thurs 9th Nov).   All successful students will receive a certificate and pin-badge in recognition of their achievement.  3 teachers are also getting the opportunity to achieve the WorldHost certification accompanying the pupils on their visit.

“DYW Moray are really excited for Moray pupils to be given another opportunity to achieve the renowned WorldHost Certification.  We want to better prepare those pupils who may be interested in working in the Travel and Tourism Industry so this opportunity has been offered to those pupils who are studying at National 5 level.  We thank Brodie Castle and Moray College UHI for helping us deliver this.”
