Moray Business Wins Youth Employer of the Month

Hendry Hydraulics Ltd, a family run organisation since 1964 have won Youth Employer of the Month by Skills Development Scotland.  The company which manufactures high quality hydraulic cylinders is run by Mike Hendry who also sits on the Developing the Young Workforce in Moray (DYW Moray) Board.  The company which offers Modern Apprenticeships supports the younger generations employability in the area.   In early 2015, the company employed a trio of Modern Apprentices after deciding to open its doors to the young people in Moray by hosting an Open Day during Modern Apprentice Week.

 

 

After receiving this award Simon Hart of Hendry Hydraulics Ltd stated to DYW Moray that,

 

“We are very pleased to have received the award and hope that it may encourage more SME’s to take on more local youngsters.”

At the opening event of DYW Moray in September 2016, Mike conveyed the that employing Modern Apprentices has been successful, bringing new and fresh ideas into the organisation. 

 

The DYW Moray Board certainly hope that this will encourage other local businesses in Moray to help develop the young workforce providing a better future for Moray.
